Training
Remote pilot programs from first flight to instructor level — foundation, licensing, endorsements and specialist operations.
Drone Training, Operations & Equipment
Eastern UAV trains remote pilots, flies commercial drone missions, supplies and supports UAV fleets, and helps operators build the approvals behind them — across Nepal and Australia, to the standard an airline customer would expect.
What We Do
Most drone businesses do one of these. We do all four, because they feed each other — the pilots we train fly the missions, the missions prove the equipment, and the equipment is what we support.
Remote pilot programs from first flight to instructor level — foundation, licensing, endorsements and specialist operations.
Contract flying for survey, inspection, agriculture and media — planned, risk-assessed and flown to a documented standard.
Airframes, payloads, batteries and spares sourced through the Eastern Aero supply network — with the parts trail to match.
Operations manuals, operator certificate applications, safety management and framework advisory for operators and authorities.
Why Eastern UAV
Airline customers do not accept "it flew fine" as evidence. They want the document, the traceability and the procedure. We hold unmanned operations to the same line — and we teach our pilots to expect it.
Who We Work With
What you need from a drone partner depends entirely on where you're starting. These are the four conversations we have most often.
Pilots going from hobby flying to paid work — the licence, the endorsements, and an honest picture of what the work actually pays.
Surveyors, contractors, farms and media outfits who need either a trained pilot on staff or a crew they can call.
Utilities, mining, telecom and infrastructure groups building an internal drone program — pilots, procedures, fleet and governance.
Agencies, municipalities, NGOs and emergency services needing mapping capability and crews who can be tasked at short notice.
Commercial Operations
Every job leaves a paper trail: flight plan, risk assessment, crew brief, log and deliverable. That is the difference between a drone operator and an aviation operator.
Photogrammetry and orthomosaics, digital surface and terrain models, volumetric stockpile measurement, corridor mapping and progressive construction capture.
Transmission lines and towers, penstocks and hydro assets, bridges, roofs and façades, telecom structures — close visual inspection without scaffolding or rope access.
Crop health and stress mapping, plantation and field inventory, irrigation assessment, and spray-operation planning for cooperatives and estates.
Thermal inspection of solar arrays, substations and building envelopes, plus multispectral capture where the answer is in the data rather than the picture.
Broadcast, documentary, tourism and corporate work — flown by licensed crews with the permissions and insurance the production needs on file.
Rapid post-event imagery for landslide, flood and earthquake assessment, access route survey and damage mapping for responding agencies.
Equipment
Eastern Aero has spent years moving aviation parts across borders for airline customers — customs, documentation, traceability, lead times. Eastern UAV puts that same supply machinery behind unmanned aircraft.
We are an independent sourcing partner, not a single-brand dealer. We specify the platform that fits the mission, the terrain and the budget rather than the one we happen to hold stock of — and we tell you when the cheaper aircraft is the right answer.
Consulting & Advisory
Unmanned aviation only scales where the rules are clear and workable. We work both sides of that: helping operators meet the requirements, and helping authorities design requirements that can actually be met.
About
Eastern UAV is the unmanned aviation arm of Eastern Aero, a diversified aviation group working across parts trading and MRO support, aircraft and engine leasing, asset management and aviation software, with offices in Kathmandu, Brisbane and the United States.
Nepal is where we are building first. It is a country where drones solve real problems — terrain that makes ground survey slow and dangerous, infrastructure spread across mountains, agriculture that needs better data — and where the professional training layer is still thin. Australia is our second market and our benchmark.
FAQ
The things people ask before they pick up the phone. If yours isn't here, ask us directly — we'd rather answer it than have you guess.
In almost every case, yes — and in both Nepal and Australia the requirement applies to the pilot and, separately, to the organisation the work is done under. Flying for payment, for an employer, or as part of a business is treated differently from flying for fun, regardless of the size of the aircraft. We'll walk you through exactly which approvals your intended work needs before you spend money on training you may not require.
A remote pilot licence qualifies you to fly. An operator certificate approves an organisation to conduct commercial operations — it carries responsibilities around procedures, record keeping, safety management and an accountable person. Most commercial work needs both: a licensed pilot, flying under a certificated operator. If you're setting up your own business, you'll eventually need the second one, and we help build it.
A foundation course runs over a day or two. A full licensing program typically runs across several days of theory plus practical flight time and assessment, and how quickly you get through the practical depends more on your prior stick time than on the calendar. Endorsements added to an existing licence are shorter. We'll give you a realistic schedule for your situation rather than a brochure number.
No. Training aircraft are provided. If you already own the platform you intend to work with, bring it — training on the aircraft you'll actually fly is better, and it lets us cover its specific systems, failure modes and battery behaviour.
Not automatically. Authorities generally require a conversion or validation process rather than straight recognition, and the requirements differ in each direction between Nepal and Australia. Send us what you hold and we'll tell you what the gap actually is — sometimes it's a short conversion, sometimes it's most of a full course.
Yes — that's our operations line. For one-off or occasional work, contracting a crew is almost always cheaper than training, licensing, equipping and insuring your own. We'll tell you honestly which side of that line your workload falls on; if you're flying often enough that an in-house program makes sense, we'd rather build it with you.
Yes, and we source independently rather than pushing one brand. Tell us the mission — the terrain, the payload, the flight time, the budget — and we'll specify what fits, supply it through the Eastern Aero network, and keep it supported with spares and repair coordination afterwards.
Nepal and Australia. Training and operations run out of Kathmandu for Nepal, and out of Brisbane for Australia. For corporate and agency programs we travel to your site in either country.
